Jonathan's autographHOT.

HOT.

Freaking HOT.

Like, I’ve seriously never been so hot in my entire life, and I’ve been to summer festivals before. We got a late start, and didn’t arrive until 5:00 p.m. So I missed my shot at seeing In This Moment (*sob*) but my utmost respect goes to those guys who were out there having to perform in that heat. They’re made of sturdier stuff than I, because my first mission after picking up my meet and greet pass was to find a shady spot and sit down before I ended up at the first aid tent within the first half hour of being there. So the heat ruined what could have been a really good time. If only it could have been cloudy. Damn you, Dallas sun! I sweated off three pounds over this ordeal.

But I was able to go back to the tour buses and attend the meet and greet with Korn, and they were all awesome enough to brave the fires of hell to hang out with us for a few minutes. Jonathan Davis signed my “Alone I Play” DVD/CD set–seeming rather impressed that I had it, which made my entire year, really.

That was absolutely the best part of the day to me. Their performance was fabulous as always, and it was well worth the sweltering misery of the day. Once the sun went down, it became somewhat tolerable, and I was able to enjoy myself a little more. Though I was really wishing, when Jonathan hit the audience with the water hose, that some of it would reach us.

Now it’s back to reality with a bang, as my toddler was running fever when we picked her up from her granny’s the morning after, and we’ve been battling that all weekend. Also, this is the last week of summer vacation, and there are 1.3 million things to do before school starts next Monday. I haven’t even bought the first of the school supplies. Argh! Mom fail. Can I run away again? :-)
